A portfolio is very important as it is a collection of records that constantly changes as you progress, reflecting upon your skills, accomplishments, attributes and experiences. It gives you a chance to showcase samples of some of your best work. When a portfolio is reviewed the process is usually kept on a strict time limit, this means that your portfolio has to be strong and stand out in order for you to have a better chance in securing your place for whatever your applying for. It is more about showcasing the work that shows that you are able and willing to try new techniques rather than perfection in your artwork.

Presentation skills are also important as they are the thing that sets you aside from your competition. They come in handy when wanting to be successful as an individual or in a business, they are also important for stress reduction, time management, leadership and public image and opinions. You should always strive to improve on every presentation you give, this is not always standing up in front of a group and showing a PowerPoint, but it is when going for job interviews, when meeting new people, or going to a meeting.
