Everything you do on a day to day basis, whether it be in college, a work place or a super market, everything involves using your communication skills. This is why they are a very important aspect of everyday life. The way that othrs think of and interpret you is guided by the way you communicate. It is relevant to treat others the way you want to be treated, give your peers, tutors etc. the respect you want to recieve, speak to people the way you want to be spoken to, and communicate in a way the you would feel welcomes with. Think about the person you are communicating with and how you would want to be spoken to if it was the other way around, use that to guide your own skills. If you want to be seen as a positive respectful person, then treat others with respect, talk in a kind manner and use positive body language.

You need to have the right state of mind before you go into any situation where you need to communicate, if your going to an interview and you go in nervous, thinking you will under achieve, your likely to show that through your communications and meet the expectations of your own mind. Keeping a positive state of mind, and being confident within yourself will automatically make your body more relaxed, your voice more calm, and your communication will be more positive, your more likely to come out with a positive result.
